Lunchtime change

Just a bunch of twists hanging freely.

Some mornings I can’t decide on how I want to wear my hair. I get up about 40 minutes before work (I literally work five minutes from my house). Once I’ve showered, gotten dressed and so forth, I usually have about 10 minutes to spare on my hair. In such a short amount of time I might not have a clear hair vision for the day.

Now all pinned up for a new 'do.
Getting up earlier would help solve this problem, but as much as I love my hair, I love sleep just a little more. Occasionally I style my hair the night before, but that’s only if I’m inspired to do so. What’s a girl to do when she goes to work with just a hairstyle she doesn't really feel? Change it at lunch.

Yes, I have this habit of restyling my hair at lunchtime. It started one day when I checked my e-mail at home. A hair site I follow sent a link to a hair how-to video, and I couldn’t wait until I got home to try it. So I switched my hair at lunch. It’s a very simple process. I go home, eat a quick lunch, restyle my hair and come back to work looking brand new. I’m not sure if anyone notices. We all have our own offices and might not see each other after lunch.

Most hairstyles I can recreate within 30 minutes. If it’s going to require a little more time and effort I’ll save it for later. I joke that my hair is my hobby, and this gives me another opportunity to enjoy it. When I was a reporter, my hair was the last thing on my mind, and I typically wore the same hairstyle every day. Now I can change it twice a day. Coming soon I’ll write a post on how to do your own lunchtime hair makeover for any hair type.

  1. Ha! I used to do the same thing when I was in high school, except it was my clothes. I'd go to school feeling cute and then halfway through be like "I look awful" and go home and change.

I never know what to do with my hair. I'm so bored with it. I always wear it the same way, and when I try to make it pretty I feel like it comes out awful. Put up a video of you doing your hair!

    1. I remember the mini fashion shows in high school from people changing clothes. I was always so jealous I had to wear the same thing all day since I didn't live closer. My hair use to go through its boring stage too. I'll definitely post a video.
