52 Weeks of Memories: Week 4.2-9

I promise I’ve been getting up, getting out and doing something each week. I just haven’t written about what I’m doing in two months. Here’s a brief recap

4.2 I participated in a postage party for my former work BFF. She’s getting married this summer. It will be my first “white wedding.” Several of the cards I addressed were to my former co-workers.

5.2 It was a busy week for me during this one. I participated in a local Black History Month opening ceremonies Wednesday. My friends and I celebrated my one home girl’s bday on Friday. We also went to ye olde medieval faire Saturday afternoon (and I won a fencing battle). Saturday night we celebrated another home girl’s PhD success.

6.2 I went to Fort Mose in St. Augustine for the Flight to Freedom tour. It demonstrated how many slaves escaped to La Florida. This was my second year going and it was even better than before.

7.2  Another busy week for me. I celebrated Valentine’s Day with Mexican food and margaritas. I saw Drake in concert the next day. Saturday I went to a Mardi Gras pub crawl with my new BFF I met at meet up.

8.2 I recently joined this mentoring group and we had a slumber party for the big sisters and little sisters at a hotel. I fell asleep and ended up with a face covered in ice cream. No sleeping at slumber parties allowed.

9 Black History Month ended with an Elder’s Banquet where I also volunteered. And I spent Saturday hanging with my mentee. She’s in fourth grade and cute as a button. We played Karaoke Revolution Glee, went to a home show, ate at iHop and painted ceramic figurines.
